The Department of International Relations in Heraklion in collaboration with the Municipality of Heraklion welcome Erasmus students with an excititng city tour!
The city tour focuses on August 25th Street, where the most important monuments of the city are located. These monuments bear a centuries-long history of fierce battles with conquerors, natural disasters, and the cultural imprint of its different settlers (Arabs, Venetians, Ottomans). Today Heraklion is a vibrant student city, the commercial center of the island of Crete and home to the most famous archaeological attraction of Crete: the Palace of Knossos.
