The International & Public Relations Department in Voutes Campus, Heraklion, is pleased to welcome new Erasmus students and invites them to the spring semester 2024 orientation day & city tour! Please read details below:
February 15: Orientation Day
The spring semester Orientation Day is organized on Thursday, February 15, at 11.30,.
We will meet in front of the Administration Building II, where our offices are located, at 11.30, and then we will walk together to the Department of Mathematics & Applied Mathematics Room Ε130.

During the event, you will have the opportunity to meet fellow students, faculty members, and UoC staff who are here to assist you throughout your time at the university. We have planned a program that includes short presentations, campus walks, and activities to familiarize you with our facilities and resources. It will be a great chance to make contacts and ask questions about your stay in Heraklion and the University of Crete. Light lunch and coffee will be provided.
February 16: Heraklion City Tour
The Department of International & Public Relations, in collaboration with the Department of tourism of the Municipality of Heraklion, invite you to a short city tour at the historical center of Heraklion on Friday, February 16, at 11.00 (duration: 40 minutes).
We will meet in front of Vikelea Library. Please see the location here.
The tour will take you through the most important monuments of the old city, bearing a centuries-long history of fierce battles with conquerors, natural disasters, and the cultural imprint of its different settlers (Arabs, Venetians, Ottomans). Today Heraklion is the commercial center of the island of Crete and home to the most famous archaeological attraction of Crete: the Palace of Knossos.
